Marianne and Nico were recently guests at the unveiling of a wall painting at the Oklahoma School in Macassar and Marianne shared this letter with us all:

Dear Rotary Members,

Nico and I were invited last Friday at the Oklahoma Straat School in Maccassar to attend the unveiling of a wall painting to promote the learners mother tongue language AFRIKAANS and to dream big in Afrikaans, all organised by

Despite the rain it was such a pleasure to watch these motivated learners screaming and shouting in their mother tongue, being encouraged by Rene from
We felt it was an absolute honour to be invited by the headmistress Joanne, us being the only two Rotary Club representatives among other educational dignitaries, and being referred to as the Helderberg Sunrise Rotary Club members that introduced their Kagiso books. You could tell they appreciate our involvement with their school tremendously.
There were even two very brave learners to take the stage for reading out a poem, and singing a beautiful song "You are the wind beneath my wings"
The message was loud and clear "Dream Big" persevere and don't give up and you will be what you set out for yourself.
